Is safe for me to exercise if I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)?

Not only is it safe, we really encourage people to exercise. If someone has active inflammation in the joint, they should use pain as a signal to slow down a bit, but it's very important for everybody, including people with rheumatoid arthritis, to maintain their cardiovascular fitness
Dr. Michele Meltzer, MD, joined the staff of Thomas Jefferson University in 2007. She is currently working with ILAR (International League of Associations for Rheumatology) East Africa to improve opportunities to learn about rheumatic disease in Africa as well as India. She has been active in rheumatology professional societies including the Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and the American College of Rheumatology.
